Highlights from the UPSE-PCED Friday Seminar

The Philippine Center for Economic Development (PCED), in partnership with the UP School of Economics (UPSE), hosted the UPSE-PCED Friday Seminar featuring Dr. Justin Raymond S. Eloriaga, an economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – Shanghai Center, on September 30, 2026.

Dr. Eloriaga delivered the lecture “Room to Respond,” which examined policy space, macroeconomic management, and economic resilience, highlighting the role of evidence-based policymaking in responding to emerging economic challenges and supporting sustainable growth.

The seminar contributed to Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through its focus on economic policy, international cooperation, and knowledge exchange.
