The Fiscal Policy in the Homestretch: Challenges and Choices for the Marcos Administration seminar, organized by the Action for Economic Reform (AER) in partnership with the UP School of Economics (UPSE) and the Philippine Center for Economic Development (PCED), will be held on 23 January 2026. The event will look into the country’s fiscal health, review key government reforms, and discuss ways the Philippines can pursue inclusive growth without losing sight of financial responsibility.
As the administration approaches its final stretch, Filipinos are facing high expectations—from better public services and social support to more jobs and investments across the country. But with limited resources and rising debt, the government must make tough choices on how to raise funds and where to spend them. Finding the right balance is essential: we need strong economic growth and responsible budgeting to ensure long-term stability.
This forum aims to bring together experts and leaders to make sense of the numbers, explain what’s at stake, and explore practical policy options that can help secure a better economic future for every Filipino.
